last saturday, i squeezed with 60 000 participants at the nike human race. instead of running with the crowd, i decided to racewalk the entire distance under 60min. it is not a difficult target to meet but weaving through the human jam can be a challenge.
with irresistable babes hovering around, i took frequent glance at my heart rate monitor to keep within my planned pace of under 6:00/km. the most painful part of the race was at the 5km water point where people were clustering like as if they were in a pub. sensing the painfulness of drinking from that station, i decided to give it a miss. i used to be able to compete without drinking for 20km but age has caught up with me and i can be just as thirsty as my car. :)
after 10km of mini fartlek, i stopped my watch at 59:08min. it has been a while since i raced a distance with such a crowd. i enjoyed the entire event but nothing beats the good old big walk. *new paper please bring it back*.
my ex is crossing the line. despite making clear to her that we should just remain as friends, she is maintaining her stand. how can i ever convince her to give up?
each day, we approach new challenges together with a gust of yesterday.
i attended my long awaited convocation last thursday. as a part time student, it was a feat to juggle work, studies and personal commitments. the never ending assignments and tiring trips to school at the end of a hard day could really push one to the limit. knowledge acquisition forms just a baseline in an education journey but meeting the best individuals from different backgrounds along the way is the best thing that anyone can ask for. i am fortunate to have a gang and buddy who formed a special bond and went through thick and thin as one. may our friendships last forever. *love you all* :)

our graduation celebration at en dining bar was a fantastic experience. i was sharing with novia that it was one of the few buffets that didn't make me puke. till now, i am still missing the beef dishes that they serve.
training is progressing well. i am gradually adding gym and interval components to my programs. with 2 events coming up (the nike 10k and a corporate walk test) to complement my preparation, i am optimistic about my performance in dec's marathon and the new season in 2010. train hard edmund!!!!
